Hours/Week: 20 hours of service per week or 300 total hours of service per semester
Semester Salary: The full-time graduate assistant will receive $5,280 per semester, plus a waiver of the University Fee; the University General Fee (except portion attributable to student accident insurance); and the Student Activity Fee.
Position Summary
The GA will support the ongoing research studies that are conducted by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. The GA will have the opportunity to learn and utilize a number of survey development (Qualtrics) and data management/analytical (Excel, SPSS) software packages in support of the work done by the Office. The GA will also play a role in training and supporting undergraduate student workers, ensuring the accuracy of their data entry and similar tasks.
In addition, the GA will support the coordination & implementation of the Collegiate Learning Assessment Plus (CLA+) initiative. Specific tasks include maintaining/monitoring a student database; proctoring exams; recruiting & corresponding with test takers; assisting in the analysis of the data; and working on the writing of the final report.
Qualifications
Applicants must be a matriculated graduate student at SCSU and must be enrolled full-time (9 credits or more) in the Spring 2026 semester. Ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills; strong attention to detail; experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., excel, word, power point); good writing skills; and an interest and aptitude for research and assessment.
Applicants can expect to have the position renewed in the Fall 2026 semester, contingent upon funding and/or the successful completion of tasks and responsibilities in the Spring 2026 semester.
