Position Summary
The University Assistant provides logistical and administrative support for the Werth Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) program and day-to-day student coordination functions at the Center for Quantum and Nanotechnology (QNT). The UA works closely with the DRI Administrative Assistant, Center Technician and Faculty Coordinator, and is overseen by the Center Director. The UA role ensures that IAF students are organized, informed, and supported throughout the fellowship period and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Werth Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) - Primary Responsibility
- Serve as the primary logistical point of contact for the Werth IAF program during the summer fellowship period and into the academic year.
- Ensure all fellows have completed and submitted required paperwork prior to program start, including onboarding forms, waivers, and agreements. This includes HR paperwork and timecards.
- Create and maintain Microsoft Teams folders and channels to organize summer IAF work, communications, and document storage.
- Coordinate and schedule student outings, site visits, and program events throughout the summer.
- Monitor student attendance and follow up when scheduled hours or commitments are not met.
Outreach, Documentation and Events
- Assist with creating and publishing content to the Center website and social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) as needed.
- Assist in preparing outreach materials for prospective industry partners, academic collaborators, and new users.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
