The General Studies Bachelor of Arts program at Southern Connecticut State University offers a flexible path for students who want to complete their degree while exploring multiple academic disciplines. Instead of focusing on a single major, this program allows you to design a themed concentration that aligns with your interests and career goals.
Students can build a concentration in areas such as business, humanities, social sciences, STEM, educational studies, and health and community services. This approach is ideal for those with broad academic interests, transfer students looking to maximize previously earned credits, and adults returning to college to finish their degree.
This program provides the freedom to customize your education while receiving guidance from dedicated academic advisors. You’ll have the opportunity to combine courses from different fields, creating a degree that reflects your unique goals and aspirations.
The General Studies program is intended for students who have already completed 75 or more college credits at SCSU or another institution. Students with fewer credits are encouraged to consider the Interdisciplinary Studies Program. Every student in the program is assigned an academic advisor to help plan a clear path to graduation.
