Adapted Sport Program

The Institute for Adapted Sports and Recreation is excited to offer this program for children and teens who have developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD.

Each week, participants will be introduced to sports working on drills and skills, physical strength and coordination, teambuilding, social, emotional, and cooperative skills.

Ages: 8-12

Volleyball, Scandinavian kickball, soccer, track and field. 
Sundays: 5:30pm-6:15pm, April 7th - April 28th.

Ages 13-16

Soccer, volleyball, Berber baseball, track & field, and ultimate frisbee.
Sundays: 2:00-3:00 pm, March 24th - April 28th..

Facilitator

Lorre Snyder
Bringing 40 years combined experience as a physical education teacher in the New York school system, coach of school aged, high school, and collegiate Division 3 athletics.  Lorre is currently working on her master’s degree in therapeutic recreation at Southern Connecticut State University

Shelby Segala, MS, CTRS
Shelby brings her professional experience as a Recreation Therapist working with children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and children with psychiatric disorders.   In addition, Shelby brings her combined athletic and coaching experiences.

Fee: $50.00 per participant

Parking

493 Fitch Street, New Haven, CT.  Free, accessible, and adjacent to the building.  Please use the HHS Clinic Spots in the outside lot or on the ground floor of the garage.
