What is the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP)?
The Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP) is a statewide initiative that streamlines the college admissions process for high-achieving Connecticut high school seniors. Eligible students are granted automatic admission to participating Connecticut State Universities, making it easier than ever to take the next step toward your future.
CAAP Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for CAAP, you must:
- Graduate from a Connecticut public or private high school
- Earn a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)

Create your Common Application Account - Submit Required Materials
Have your official high school transcript sent to SCSU’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. - Review Your Decision
Once we receive your transcript, your admission to Southern will be confirmed!

- Automatic Admission ≠ Program Admission: While CAAP guarantees your admission to Southern, selective programs such as Nursing and the Honors College have additional requirements and competitive selection processes.
