Honors College Application
Complete and submit the Honors College application and required essay for incoming freshmen students by February 24, 2024.
Who Should Apply for Admission to the Honors College?
First-Year Students
- Thoughtful and highly motivated high-school seniors who are curious, resilient, passionate, and eager to explore new ideas and new ways of learning are encouraged to apply. Students should be academically well-prepared, but SAT/ACT scores are not required.
- We look for students with a strong commitment to service and who have compelling leadership potential.
- Students from all majors are eligible to apply to the program.
- Entering freshmen must complete the Honors application (above) to be considered for the program and for scholarship awards.
Transfer students
- Transfer students or second-semester freshmen with the qualities listed above may request to be admitted to the Honors College. There is no application deadline for students transferring into the program.
- Pre-requisites for students transferring into the program include a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.3 and the completion of ENG 112 or its equivalent.
- Transfer students who are interested in joining the Honors College should contact the Honors College Office at (203) 392-5499 to schedule an application interview with the Honors Director.
- Please note that Honors College scholarships are not automatically available to students who transfer into the program; however, all transfer students accepted into the program will be placed on a scholarship waitlist.
