  4. Minor in Asian Studies

A minor in Asian Studies provides students with a broad understanding of the history, cultures, and languages of one of the world’s most dynamic regions. Complementing majors in all disciplines, this interdisciplinary minor enhances students’ global awareness and cross-cultural competence. It also fosters communication skills, adaptability, critical thinking, and problem-solving – important assets in today’s interconnected world. Study-abroad opportunities provide hands-on and immersive learning experiences.

This minor provides a competitive edge in an increasingly interconnected job market. With Asia playing a crucial role in global affairs, multinational corporations and trade firms value employees who understand the region’s economic and social dynamics. In addition, graduates with knowledge of Asian cultures and languages find careers in government, education, media, and nonprofit work.
