  4. Minor in Psychological Science

The Minor in Psychological Science program offers students an opportunity to take upper-level psychology courses to complement their major. The Psychological Science minor differs from the Psychology minor in that it includes coursework in statistics and advanced psychology courses that have an experimental focus.

The minor is an excellent choice for students who plan to apply to medical school. It is also ideal for students with majors that will lead to careers in education and healthcare professions, such as Nursing, Communication Disorders, and Exercise Science, and students who plan to pursue careers in the biotechnology and information technology fields.

Careers

An undergraduate student who minors in Psychological Science gains a strong foundation in understanding human thought, behavior, and research methods, which is valuable in many career paths. Graduates may pursue roles in human resources, marketing, education, social services, or health-related fields. The minor also strengthens skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and communication, making it a strong complement to majors in business, biology, sociology, or communications. It can also serve as a stepping stone for graduate study in psychology, counseling, social work, or related disciplines.
