Housatonic and Gateway to Southern

Are you a current or incoming community college student seeking housing in the New Haven area? Are you finishing your studies at a local community college and planning to transfer to Southern Connecticut State University? You have come to the right place!

For Housing While Attending Community College

Southern has partnered with local community colleges including (but not limited to) Gateway Community College in New Haven and Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport to offer eligible students the opportunity to live at SCSU and commute to their classes. Those denied admissions at Southern are not eligible to live on campus while attending Gateway Community College or Housatonic.

How to Apply

  1. Please complete the Visiting Student Application, there is no application fee.  You will receive a response within approximately 1 week with your MySCSU credentials. Once you have this information, you will be able to log in to MySCSU.
  2. Select "Student Services" on the MySCSU homepage and then select "MyHousing Portal" on the next menu.
  3. On the MyHousing Portal homepage, click the "Applications" tab in the top menu and select "Community College-SCSU Partnership Housing Application and Deposit" to apply for housing and pay your $250 non-refundable deposit.
  4. Please note: financial aid will not cover the cost of housing at SCSU, so please take that into consideration before applying.
