Admissions Portal

The Admissions Portal is your online hub for viewing and submitting information about your application to Southern Connecticut State University.

Here, you can

  • View your personalized application checklist.

  • Confirm the official testing information we have received.

  • Upload additional documents that will be sent directly to your admissions officer.

  • View your decision letter.

For freshmen, your Common App application should automatically be transferred to the Application Portal. All other students (transfer, graduate, international, etc.) can start the application process by creating an account in the SCSU Admissions Portal.

If You Don't Have an Account

Please follow the instructions below, if you never logged in to the Admission’s portal and have not set-up an account.

  • Visit the Application Portal.

  • Click on Check Application Status

  • Click on Sign Up (top right hand corner) – Common App Users must sign up with the email address used for the Common App.

  • Type your First Name, Last Name and Email Address to set-up your account

  • Click Submit

  • You will receive an email with a new link. Click on the link

  • Click Reset Password

  • Create a new password and confirm the password

  • You can view outstanding requirements, decision or complete Next Steps.

Help Signing into the Admissions Portal

If you applied to Southern CT State University through Common App then you need to follow the instructions emailed to you about the Admissions Portal. Using the link in the email will ensure that your application is linked to your account. If you have already created an account for the Admission Portal but are having problems signing then you should perform a password reset. The username is the personal email address you used when signing up for the system. Once you initiate a password reset, you will receive an email on how to complete the process. It is important that you remember to check your junk or spam folders for the email. The SCSU IT Help Desk is available 24/7 to help walk you through the password reset process.

 

KNOWN PROBLEM: The password reset email does not let me reset my password.
Some email providers scan links in your emails for security purposes or to provide preview of the page from your mailbox.  When the scan happens, the password reset link expires so you are never taken to the page that would allow you to reset your password.  If this happens then you should disable the Preview Links feature on your personal email account. Instructions on how to disable the Preview Links feature in Outlook can be found on the Knowledge Base article provided by SalesForce.
