Southern needs alumni volunteers like you to offer the most effective programs and services possible.
Alumni Professionals Day
You will have the opportunity to meet many students who are interested in your profession. The purpose of the day is for students to engage in an informal setting with alumni from a wide variety of professions, to find out what it is really like to do what you do. These frank discussions are extremely important for our students, especially those who have not yet chosen a career path.
Help a student by offering an internship to gain real-world work experience in their area of interest. It's been proven that students with internship experience are far more likely than their counterparts without it to achieve employment in their field sooner! We work with the Center for Career and Professional Development to list internships for our students.
What happens after graduation? Alumni Networks! There are formal and informal alumni networks across the country for both social and professional networking.
Networks help alumni connect with each other, stay connected to SCSU and open a wide range of new relationships in your professional field and in your social network.
Please contact Doreen Cammarata-Gilhuly if you would like to help with a network in your area.
