The Communication Department Digital Production Facility serves as a hands-on laboratory for students enrolled in the Department's Film, Television, & Digital Production courses. Here students can work with a variety of video and audio production tools to complete their projects.
The Broadcast Studio
The Broadcast Studio is equipped with a NewTek Tricaster Production System, 3 Sony HD Studio Cameras with teleprompters, a full complement of dmx-controlled Arri and Videssence Light Sources, a Pro-Cyc green screen, and a 16-channel Yamaha audio mixer.
Edit Suites
The Digital Production Facility houses 4 reservable editing suites that include iMac computers with dual 27" monitors, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, an RE-20 microphone with an sE Electronics reflexion filter, and a full-complement of professional grade production software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Pro Tools, and Davinci Resolve.
There are also 3 additional iMac workstations available with the same software configurations for individual use.
Field Equipment
The Digital Production Facility offers a wide variety professional-level field equipment for student use, including Canon Cameras (C100 & C200 Cinema Cameras, Vixia HD camcorders), Sony Cinema Cameras (FS-5 & EA50), Rokinon prime lens kits, Sachtler and Manfrotto tripods, Sound Devices MixPre3 and Zoom H4N audio recorders with Sennheiser shotgun mics, a Movi Pro Camera Movement System, Porta Jib, Spider Dolly, Slider Dolly, Dracast LED lights, Lowel DV-44 light kits, and Kino-Flo Diva lights.
