
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) promotes academic excellence in baccalaureate and master’s social work education. EPAS describe four features of an integrated curriculum design:

- Assessment
Southern Connecticut State University's Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs are both fully accredited by CSWE.
Assessment
The Social Work Department collects assessment data to help determine the attainment of benchmark scores in the various competency areas in social work. This assessment is based on the CSWE's 2015 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Each program collects two forms of assessment data: one field-based measure, and one academic-based measure.
