Admission Requirements

M.S. DEGREE WITH INITIAL TEACHING CERTIFICATION

The requirements for matriculation and admission to the School Health Education Program for the master of science degree and initial teaching certification are:

  • Submitting the graduate school application to the School of Graduate Studies

  • Submitting all official college transcripts to the School of Graduate Studies

  • Having an undergraduate Q.P.R. of 2.7 or better

  • Passing the Praxis I exam in reading, writing, and mathematics

  • Submitting two letters of recommendation

  • Submitting a 250-word essay on why he/she wishes to be a school health teacher

  • Completing an entrance interview with members of the School Health Education faculty

  • Submitting the application for admission into the School of Education

M.S. DEGREE ONLY OR M.S. DEGREE WITH CROSS-ENDORSEMENT

The requirements for matriculation and admission to the School Health Education Program for the master of science degree only or for the master of science degree with cross-endorsement (indicates that the student is already certified in one area) are:

  • Submitting the graduate school application to the School of Graduate Studies

  • Submitting all college transcripts to the School of Graduate Studies

  • Having an undergraduate Q.P.R of 2.7 or better
