Industry Academic Fellowship Program

The Werth Family Foundation sponsored Industry Academic Fellowship (IAF) program at the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Center for Nanotechnology (CSCUCNT) provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to conduct team-based interdisciplinary research. During the course of this eight-week summer program, IAF students will conduct research in collaboration with educators and industry professionals, while exploring the business-related aspects of technology. Research teams will be working on nanotechnology projects with topics including nano-medicine and nano-environmental studies

Students will participate in weekly business related workshops, led by faculty from the SCSU School of Business. Students will learn about topics such as intellectual property, marketing, and patents. Students will gain knowledge of the technical aspects of industry related research as well as the business aspects.

Dates – June 5 – July 31, 2023

Eligibility – This program is open to highly motivated science students from SCSU and Connecticut Community Colleges. Minorities, women, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Stipend – Each participant will receive a stipend of up to $5,000; [up to $4,000 during the eight weeks in the summer (June & July), up to $1,000 during the following fall and spring semester for work in the research labs.]

Application – The selection of IAF candidates is based on a personal statement (cover letter), resume, academic transcript, and one letter of recommendation.
