Dr. Boronico holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He previously attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics, Operations Research specialization, at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
His professional experience includes, in addition to his current appointment as Dean of the School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University, fourteen (14) years as the Dean of the School of Management at the New York Institute of Technology as well as prior appointments as Dean of the School of Business at the University of New Haven and the Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business at William Paterson University His leadership is evidenced through his three times leading business schools to the attainment of initial AACSB accreditation, and its maintenance, across multiple domestic and international campus locations, in addition to implementing an accreditation turn-around strategy at another institution where AACSB accreditation was subsequently achieved. His accreditation achievements also include Global Ministerial Accreditations, including the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (UAE) and the Degree Quality Assessment Board of the Ministry of Advanced Education (Canada). His global expertise includes Deanships that span six (6) countries.
He holds the rank of Professor Emeritus, reflecting his scholarship that includes over forty (40) published manuscripts in peer-reviewed and impactful academic journals, including Production and Operations Management, Omega, and the European Journal of Operations Research. He is a co-author of Computer Simulation in Operations Management and the editor of Studies in the Strategy and Tactics of Competitive Advantage: Management in the New Millennium. His pro bono service to the academic community includes serving as an officer for the Northeast Business Deans Association (NEBDA) across four (4) years, where he held the office of President and is currently President Emeritus.
Dr. Boronico is an advocate of servant leadership, seeing his role as a leader in the style of facilitator and supporter, blending the diverse and varied interests and goals of faculty, students, staff, and other stakeholder groups together in ways that demonstrate mission advancement. He is an advocate of shared governance and distributed leadership, and his external cultivation of stakeholders includes significant interaction and integration of industry, alumni, employers, and community into activities that advance the school’s mission.
