Supports students who are recipients of the National TheDream.US scholarship through advocacy and connection to campus resources.
Southern Connecticut State University is proud to be a partner institution of TheDream.US, the nation’s leading organization supporting Dreamers at the intersection of higher education, workforce development, immigration, and advocacy..
Through this partnership, Southern is committed to supporting TheDream.US Scholars throughout their academic and workforce journey.
UAP Support for TheDream.US Scholars
The University Access Programs (UAP) office serves as a primary source of support for TheDream.US Scholars at Southern. Scholars are connected to a dedicated UAP Advocate (Scholar Advisor) who provides guidance, advocacy, and connection to campus resources.
UAP Advocates support scholars as they:
- Navigate university systems and processes
- Plan academic pathways toward graduation
- Access campus and community resources
- Manage challenges and transitions during college
- Build confidence and persistence toward degree completion
UAP provides a welcoming and supportive environment where scholars are encouraged to thrive academically and personally.
TheDream.US Scholars program supports students who are recipients of the National TheDream.US scholarship. Eligibility for the scholarship is determined by TheDream.US.
Students who are current or prospective TheDream.US Scholars are encouraged to connect with University Access Programs to learn more about support available at Southern.
TheDream.US Scholars are part of a broader UAP community that values inclusion, advocacy, and student success. Through individual support and group engagement opportunities, scholars build connections with peers and staff who understand their experiences and are committed to their success.
