Accelerated MBA Program - Frequently Asked Questions
The traditional MBA program is still available; as of August 2014, we have added an accelerated MBA program which can be completed in eighteen (18) months.
Q: How is the accelerated MBA program different from the regular program?
A: The accelerated program is a full time hybrid (online and on ground classes) program
that meets on weekends and lasts 18 months.
Q: What is the structure of the program?
A: This program does not follow the traditional Fall/Spring semester framework of the typical academic year. Instead, there will be 9 sessions; each session will last 8 weeks with a short break in between each session. Students will earn 6 credits during each session towards the 51 credit program. The ninth and final session will be devoted to the completion of the special project (MBA 595).
Q: What will be the class format?
A: Classes are provided in a hybrid format, both on ground and online. Classes meet on ground every other week during each eight (8) week session: Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Q: What are the qualifications for admission?
A: Same as the traditional MBA but restricted to domestic students; no international students. To be admitted into the program, students should have graduated with a 3.0 GPA or better from an accredited undergraduate institution, submit Official transcripts of all colleges previously attended; provide a current resume; write and submit a 500 word personal statement on why s/he wants to pursue the MBA and submit two letters of reference attesting to leadership potential, ability to work independently and as part of a team. In addition, because of the intense nature of the program, applicants must demonstrate that they are capable of meeting short deadlines.
Q: Who will teach the classes?
A: Classes will be taught by the same excellent full time faculty who teach in the traditional MBA program.
Q: What is the cost of the program?
A: Please visit the Student Accounts Office web page for a current list of approved tuition and fees. The tuition for the Accelerated MBA program includes tuition, books, materials, breakfast and lunch for the in-class Saturday sessions. Although the tuition is listed per semester on the Student Accounts Office page, tuition is paid by the start date of the first, third, fifth, and seventh sessions. The listed price per semester is the amount you will pay four times. Financial aid may be available to those who qualify.
Q: How do I apply to the program?
A: First schedule an appointment with the MBA Director. Then start the application.
Q: I am an international student, can I apply?
A: No, due to visa restrictions international students cannot be admitted to the Accelerated Program. International students are encouraged to apply to the Traditional MBA Program.
