FAQs

Q: How is the Accelerated MBA program (AMBA) different from the regular program?
A:
The accelerated program is a full-time hybrid (online and on-ground classes) program that meets on weekends and lasts 15 months.

Q: What is the structure of the program?
A:
The AMBA program does not follow the traditional Fall/Spring semester framework of the typical academic year. Instead, there are nine (9) sessions; each lasting eight (8) weeks with a short break in between sessions. Students earn six (6) credits during each session toward the 42-credit program.

Q: What is the class format?
A:
Classes are provided in a hybrid format, both on-ground and online. Classes meet on-ground every other week during each eight (8) week session on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Q: What are the requirements for admission to the AMBA?
A:
The same as the traditional MBA but restricted to domestic students; no international students are accepted. To be admitted into the program, students must have graduated with a 3.0 GPA or better from an accredited undergraduate institution; submit official transcripts of all colleges previously attended; provide a current resume; write and submit a 500-word personal statement on why s/he wants to pursue the MBA; and submit two letters of reference attesting to the candidate’s leadership potential, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

In addition, because of the intense nature of the program, applicants must demonstrate that they are capable of meeting short deadlines.

Q: Who teaches the classes?
A:
The reputation of our MBA program begins with our accomplished faculty members — each individually committed to developing the next generation of organizational leaders.

Classes are taught by an experienced faculty of mentors, world-class educators, and professionals with strong business networks and experience who are engaged in the local business community and in innovative and enlightening research within their fields. They bring expert insight and instruction to the classroom and will support you throughout the program.

Q: What is the cost of the program?
A:
Please visit the Student Accounts Office for a current list of approved tuition and fees

Q: How do I apply to the program?
A:
First schedule an appointment with or write to the MBA Director. Then start the application.

Q: I am an international student, can I apply?
A:
No, due to visa restrictions, international students cannot be admitted to the Accelerated Program. International students are encouraged to apply to the Traditional MBA Program.
